gladiator

Was reading up on Greek and Roman mythology and was inspired to paint a gladiator.  the bottom collage of images is my reference for the piece. Definitely played a big part on getting a much more accurate design. Unfortunately the only thing i have in my visual library with gladiators is the movie Gladiator.

Im pretty sure this is my first ever post with a robotic theme i have ever done and man was it fun. It felt good not having to worry so much on anatomy and focus more on a design of a piece. Heavily inspired to do this piece after looking at Creature Box volume 2 and after watching the DVD that came with it. Also took the opportunity to paint something lighter in value. apparently most of my art work is "dark". 1212:)

painting of some sort of ogre/troll like creature. i was inspired to paint this after looking over many of Carlos Huantes paintings. great stuff to reference and get inspiration from.
